Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus // I’ve been working with the City of Santa Monica for nearly my entire career, first under my tenure at Ilium Associates and then as an independent contractor. I’ve worked on so many projects for them over the years, including detailed maps for the LA Marathon, marketing campaigns and user materials for after hours taxi service, and routine service change marketing and information pieces. Most pieces are bilingual (English/Spanish), which requires extra attention to detail to make sure the pieces are consistent in design and information.

City of Los Angeles Bike Program Maps // This project took four years to complete. I collaborated with an engineering firm in Los Angeles who created the maps from raw data and my design direction to fit the style and strategy of the program’s new branding. Maps were intended to have a minimum 10 year shelf life. Along with the design, I also art directed a multi-day photo shoot in Los Angeles, utilizing the general public as well as local bike club volunteers. This built a library of images for the program.
